Ronnie Metcalf Died as a result of Plane Crash Rio Linda, California

Ronnie Metcalf, a 70-year-old West Sacramento resident, was killed in a small plane crash that took place on Christmas Eve near Rio Linda, California. County authorities in Sacramento confirmed his identity several days after the crash. Mr. Metcalf had been traveling as a passenger aboard a 1966 single-engine airplane that departed from Rio Linda Airport and subsequently crashed in a field located west of Sacramento McClellan Airport.

First responders found him confined within the wreckage and carried out a technical extrication before transporting him to an ambulance. Although emergency crews briefly restored his pulse through cardiopulmonary resuscitation, he later succumbed to his injuries. Officials have not released the precise time of death, and the Federal Aviation Administration is conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
